In the 1960's, El-Beltagy family started growing fruits and vegetables in the Nile Delta region. In 1993, the brothers, Sherif and Mohsen, took the business one step forward and established Belco, the export company.

Belco started its business by exporting table grapes to Germany. After quickly establishing itself in the market as an exporter of premium quality fresh produce, Belco acquired its first piece of land in 1999 in the desert area of Sadat City with an area of 200 acres.

A year later, Belco developed its first pack house covering an area of around 600 sqm, with pre-cooling and cold storage facilites that could handle 12 tons of fresh fruits and vegetables per day.

Belco has now expanded its planted area to around 3,000 acres, owns and operates 3 fresh produce pack houses and supplies around 10,000 tons of premium quality fruits and vegetables to some of the largest retailers in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
